We read a book about lines.
One student had the idea to make a long line with all of our bodies! |
We made lines with loose parts.
We found lines in the room and in art. Wow -- letters are made up of lines!
Jasper Johns |
And we used lines in our art!
Students practiced their gluing skills, creating their first initial out of yarn. They then added more lines with oil pastels and crayons. We learned that if you paint over these materials with watercolor paint, you can still see them! Some of us tried out some white crayon magic with this technique. First it's invisible, just add paint and voila! Magic! See some wondrous examples of kindergartners exploring line, brush strokes, paint and color mixing below!
