Clay Monsters
2nd Grade
After reviewing one of our favorite materials, CLAY!, students sketched designs for their creatures!
I definitely can see some thoughtful planning, as well as reflection and revision, in these sketches.
Once students had a plan, we created pinch pots and practiced sculpting details.
We were then ready to make the final creatures! Don't forget to score and slip, or "scratch to attach!"
After our sculptures dried out, they were fired in a kiln. We were then ready to glaze.
